FAQ

  • A: If your e-bike’s main power system cuts off current to the accessory lines when turned off, it will not drain your battery. However, if your XT60 port connects directly to a live, unswitched battery line, the internal DC-to-DC regulator will pull a tiny, residual standby current. For long-term storage or on unswitched lines, we recommend unplugging the adapter from the XT60 connection to ensure zero power draw.
  • A: No. This charging adapter provides standard 5V USB-A power at a maximum output of 2.4A (12 Watts total). While it safely and reliably charges any standard mobile device, smartphone, GPS tracker, or action camera, it does not support specialized fast-charging protocols like Qualcomm Quick Charge or USB Power Delivery (PD).
  • A: Yes, absolutely. This static step-down converter features an ultra-wide input range operating anywhere from 12V up to 108V DC. It is fully compatible and stable running on high-voltage 52V, 60V, 72V, 84V, and even 96V custom e-bike or electric scooter battery packs without overheating.
  • A: The adapter features a weather-resistant housing and includes a protective, snug-fitting rubber cap to shield the single USB-A port from dust and light water splashes. However, the unit is not completely waterproof or submersible. We strongly recommend mounting it in a shielded area of your vehicle - such as under the seat, inside a frame bag, or beneath a battery shroud - to keep it out of heavy, direct downpours.
  • A: If your vehicle does not have a dedicated, open accessory plug coming off the battery wiring, you will need an inline XT60 Y-Splitter Cable (sold separately). You simply disconnect your battery from the controller, plug the Y-splitter in between them, and use the newly created auxiliary female XT60 port to plug in this charging adapter.
  • A: No, this device is explicitly designed for small, low-power electronic accessories. It caps out at a strict continuous output limit of 5V / 2.4A (12W). Attempting to power heavy-duty components like heated motorcycle gear, large air pumps, or high-power auxiliary horn kits will overload the internal converter and trigger its built-in safety cutoff.
  • A: The adapter's outer enclosure is built from a high-impact, heat-resistant ABS composite shell, and the XT60 male housing is molded from high-temperature nylon plastic with gold-plated brass internal contacts. Combined with its silicon-based internal circuitry, the unit regulates heat efficiently and will not melt or deform under normal e-bike operating temperatures within its specified voltage parameters.

It Just Works

Picked this thing up as a power source for my LTE tracker on my ebike. So far it's working perfectly. I have everything tucked into the frame so nothing is showing. Doesn't overheat and I haven't had any power issues from the unit or the bike. The wide range of input power is so nice. I plan on upgrading my battery down the road and not having to worry about higher voltage killing the unit is a huge plus. Everything was 100% plug and play. Unplug the main power from the battery, put this inline, and put it back together. Simple and it just works. Great product.

Works great!!!

These work great if you need to convert power in a pinch off from a lipo battery.

Is good but can be better

I like it but it will be more good if the cables were long and all covered for waterproof

Works great with a 12v LiFePo4 for ham radio stuff

Using this as a power source for a GPS module with an APRS radio. The XT60 connectors are good quality, with solid connection, and the USB output is a very stable 5v with no issues. RF-wise, it's quiet on VHF and UHF, haven't tested it with the HF bands yet. Overall, for the price, it's a well-made product.

It works but it is not ready for rain.

This is a functional USB charger. It takes the ebike voltages and converts to a USB port that can be used to charge a variety of devices including phones. However it lacks protection from rain and other elements. While it does include a rain cap for the USB port itself, the other connectors are not water proof or even slightly protected from rain water getting into the energized contacts and causing corrosion. I believe that this was intended for all of its wires and non USB connectors to be installed into a weatherized enclosure and just have the USB port accessible to the outside world. But it does not come with that enclosure. I tried various methods of protecting the 3 pin and 4 pin connectors, but each time I checked it after a rain, I found water in the area of the contacts so I decided to put the entire thing in a weatherproof enclosure that I velro to the ebike frame. I see various other ebike USB ports that have waterproof ebike connections are available on Amazon so unless you just want the type of 3 pin and 4 pin connections that this uses, I do not recommend this one.

Need XT60 Y cable/ splitter to connect to original internal battery.

I wanted to add a USB charging port to the handlebar on my electric scooter. This kit made doing so exceedingly easy! I ended up getting a XT60 Y cable so I could split it off from the scooters internal battery. You can still connect it to a separate battery, but then I dont see why you wouldnt just use a basic USB power supply and bypass this kit altogether.Once doing the set up I did with the splitter, it looks to be completely OEM and looks great!!

Works

This charging adaptor seems well made, and it works. I am disabled and I own a number of lithium battery powered machines to roll around town on. This adaptor doesnt work with my power wheelchair, but it works with my electric tricycle. It is not a sealed waterproof item, but in my experience, wiring connectors can survive splashes of water as long as they are not submerged, and they are placed where they can dry out and not accumulate water absorbing road debris. So I am not worried about this aspect.I must say the spy themed vendor advertising in the package was off-putting. But this is not a spy gadget (I hope!) so I wont take away stars for the creepy stalker talk.

Cool gadget

It's a little bulky for what it is, but it works well and does exactly what it says, if you're not great with working with electrical stuff, this is a fairly easy plug and play way to add USB to a pev that doesn't have it. Reasons to do this would to be able to, charge your phone, run led lights, charge a remote, etc. awesome product to exist, which is was a little better package, and I think it minus will have 2 USB ports.

Can charge a phone

This thing turns an ebike into a charging station. When my power went out I was able to charge my phones several times

Works quite well

I got this for my scooter, and it plugged in nicely as described, but to position it helpfully, we had to build it a casing, as Caroma scooters have very tight tolerances. Once I did, however, I was quite happy to discover that it did a note ce job charging my phone while running or still. Do be aware, however, that it does use power, and will shorten you mileage. Over all, though, a good value.

USB power from XT60 is great for Light EV shop

Nice kit to have around for Light EV escooters. Used the connectors from the kit multiple times in miscellaneous projects!

Good build quality

Reinforced connectors and hefty insulation. The xt60 connectors make it mindless to install. Worked right out of the box, no complaints on my end

Works and well made if you have the plug

It works, but I didn't have that cable for my ebike. I did have one on my solar charger so I have a spare and additional usb. It already had 2, but wanted to find a usage for this product.

Convenient Charging for My E-Bike Adventures

I recently took a long ride on my e-bike and realized I needed a reliable way to charge my devices on the go. This adapter has been a lifesaver for my GPS and phone, keeping them powered during my travels. The 2.4A output is impressive and charges my devices quickly. I love that it works with various voltage inputs, making it versatile for different setups. The compact design is easy to carry, so I can take it anywhere. My only minor issue is that it could be a bit more rugged, but it has held up well so far.

It looks janky but it works.

Mind, you, you might need some handy skills with a rotary tool to get a workable USB port on the side of your bike or scooter. Unless you're using it to charge a Bluetooth tracker or something in the scooter itself.

Simple, Smart Upgrade for My E-Bike Setup

This little adapter turned out to be way more useful than I expected. I installed it on my e-bike mainly to keep my phone charged during longer rides, and it works like a charm. The XT60 connection made it super easy to hook into the system, and I didnt need to fiddle with any complicated wiring. Just plug it in, and youve got power. The output is solid and consistent enough to charge a phone, GPS unit, or even a small camera without any hiccups. Ive used it on a few longer trips now, and its been totally reliable. The wide input voltage range is a nice bonus, especially since e-bike batteries can vary a lot depending on the setup. No issues with overheating or drops in output so far.If you ride an e-bike or scooter and want an easy way to add USB charging to your setup, this is a super practical upgrade. It doesnt take up much space, doesnt add a bunch of weight, and it gives you that little extra convenience that makes a difference on the road. Definitely glad I added it to my kit.
